Carlson Duluth Company is a full-service mechanical contractor serving the Twin Ports and surrounding areas. We handle residential and commercial plumbing, heating and cooling installations for builders, owners and property managers.
Construction is in the family history. In the early 1900s, Carlson Bros. Plumbing and Heating grew with the construction boom in West Duluth. Later, a Carlson-led firm worked on federal hydroelectric dams and military installations, and in 1963 Elmer Carlson expanded into plumbing and heating construction. Today that experience continues under Jeremy Carlson, a licensed Master Plumber.

Our process
We start with the plans and a conversation about the building’s use, budget and schedule. From there we provide a free estimate and a clear scope. During construction we rough in drain, waste, vent, water and gas piping, coordinate inspections, and set fixtures and equipment at trim-out. Heating and cooling equipment is selected for the building: Lennox furnaces from 80% to 98.2% AFUE, Weil-McLain and Knight boilers, Rinnai tankless water heaters and Mitsubishi Electric heat pumps, many of them Energy Star qualified. At the end we start up and test every system and walk the owner or facility manager through operation and maintenance.
Built for commercial demands
Commercial work has its own requirements. Offices, restaurants, healthcare spaces and condo buildings need systems that meet code, pass inspection on schedule and keep running with little downtime once people move in. We plan for access to valves, cleanouts and equipment so future service is straightforward, and we coordinate closely with the general contractor and the other trades so our work never holds up the next crew.

On the residential side, our portfolio includes a new home in Rice Lake.
